High temperatures disturb ovule development in field pea (<i>Pisum sativum</i>)

چکیده
High temperatures affect reproductive growth and lead to yield loss in many crops. Field pea is heat sensitive, but little known about the effect of high on field ovules. We investigated impact ovules flowers at various nodes using chambers. exposed 6 cultivars exhibiting diverse tolerance 4 days (35 °C day/18 night) during early flowering. Post-treatment embryo sacs were assessed clearing by light microscopy fluorescence microscopy. Results indicated that greater ovule sac development occurred some nodes, poor expansion resulted other same heat-treated plants. Whereas advanced identified heat-tolerant cultivars, a combination less intermediate heat-sensitive cultivars. More than 90% affected displayed embryos stages development, which disruption around fertilization or shortly thereafter. Callose accumulation vascular bundle within suggested assimilate transport sac. The contrasting pattern different implied conflict between aging maternal supply

Regulation of ovule development.
Ovule development in Arabidopsis and other plants has been the focus of classic and molecular genetic analyses in recent years. This has been an exciting time to be involved in plant developmental biology, because many genetic pathways and regulatory mechanisms have been elucidated. Continued studies of ovule mutants have contributed to and benefited from these advances. Ovule development invol...
متن کاملOvule and embryo development, apomixis and fertilization.
Genetic analyses, particularly in Arabidopsis, have led to the identification of mutants that define different steps of ovule ontogeny, pollen stigma interaction, pollen tube growth, and fertilization. Isolation of the genes defined by these mutations promises to lead to a molecular understanding of these processes. Mutants have also been obtained in which processes that are normally triggered ...
متن کاملBayesian peA for Reconstruction of Historical Sea Surface Temperatures
In this work, reconstructions of historical global sea surface temperatures (SST) are performed using Bayesian principal component analysis (PCA). Two PCA models are examined: a model with isotropic noise and a model which takes into account data uncertainty due to sampling errors. Inference is done by variational Bayesian learning. The methods are compared with a more traditional technique, re...
متن کاملField Pea Grain for Beef Cattle
Price will dictate inclusion rates, but increasing availability of this grain legume is resulting in pricing that is competitive with other feeds. In creep feeds, 30 percent to 50 percent field peas appears to be optimum for animal performance. Commercial feed manufacturers are including peas in a number of commercial products for their nutrient density, palatability and competitive price, and ...
